In the historical rooms of the Renaissance Scharnstein Castle, the development of Austria over the past century is presented on more than 800 m2 of exhibition space using numerous objects and pictures.

The arch spans from the last decade of peace in the monarchy to the tragic events of the First World War. The collapse of the monarchy, the young republic, corporate state, military associations, civil war and coup attempts have a large space in the display collection, as well as the tragic year 1938 and the associated end of Austria's sovereignty.

The time of the National Socialist rule and the horrors of the Second World War are presented on the basis of numerous exhibits as well as the resurrection of Austria, the occupation, the state treaty and the development of our homeland up to the end of the century. 100 years of Austria - a fascinating tour through the recent past of our country.
