Description: The Bergstraße Farrenau and the Hochberghaus are open! The hunting ban from September 15th only affects the Hetzautal and the Almtalerhaus near the Ödseen.
This mountain road ascends six kilometres to a family hiking area, located at a height of 1.200 m.
Drive about 3 km from Grünau in the direction of Schindlbach to the Bergstraßen entrance. The gradient (approx. 12%) leads over pastureland, through high forest, larch meadows and beech valleys, with valley and distant views, until you arrive at the Hochberg car park after 6 km and 12 switchbacks.
The Hochberghaus mountain inn awaits you here at 1200 m above sea level - a base for hikers, mountaineers and those looking for relaxation, as well as the starting point for beautiful hikes to the Kasberg, the Sepp-Huber-Hütte and a.

The Farrenau mountain road is open as long as the road is not icy!
The road toll is € 12.00 per car and this is to be paid with precisely counted coins at the barrier at the exit. Changing money is possible at the tourist office (during opening hours).

Pay for the ticket in the Hochberghaus or at the Grillwald sales van before the return journey - you will receive a coin for the exit!

OR when leaving the Bergstraße at the automatic barrier € 12,-- only possible with Euro coins (€1/€2)!
