The enchanting, pink chapel on the Kalvarienberg in Gosau is definitely worth a visit!
The chapel - an energy field with five secrets
After knowledgeable inhabitants of Gosau discovered an energy field between the two church buildings, a small chapel was built on this very spot in 1775 .
The founders were two salt workers' daughters from Hallstatt, Maria Sollinger and Maria Theresia Sengmüller. At that time, they donated 700 crowns to enable the construction of a small chapel and thus utilize the energy field. The steps up to the Calvary Church, with the four chapels, tell the four secrets of the Sorrowful Rosary. The fifth secret is revealed right here in the small church.
The Calvary Church is looked after by the Catholic Sisters of the Cross in Gosau. Today it serves as a symbol of the strong ecumenism in Gosau am Dachstein and is used by believers of both denominations.
Experience a 360° panoramic tour through the Gosau valley...
