A place of legends: a poacher got lost in the cave. Only three days later he came back to the surface.
The cave as religious meeting place
A few hundred meters from the Kainwiese in Pichlern (a part of Bad Goisern), in the direction to the Raschberg, is the "Schwarzenbachloch".
At the end of the cave there is a pond about 37 meters deep. During the time of religious persecution the protestants held meetings in the cave with religious services and spiritual songs to sing.
Similar meeting places were on the Rathsteig, the Ewige Wand and in the Kalmoos church.

Accessibility / arrivalThe cave "Schwarzenbachloch" (no show cave) can be reached on the hiking trail "Toleranzweg". Possibility to park at the parkinglot "Flohwiesen". Driveway by car over village St. Agatha.

Exit Regau via federal road Salzkammergut street B145 towards Gmunden and Bad Ischl to Bad Goisern

Exit Liezen via federal road B320, in Trautenfels drive onto Salzkammergut street B145 towards Bad Goisern
from Villach:
Tauern motorway to exit "Eben im Pongau", via B166 Pass Gschütt federal road through Gosau, at the Gosaumühle junction turn towards Bad Goisern
