Hausstaetter wayside cross

Tiefgraben am Mondsee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The wayside cross, inconspicuous at the intersection near the Hotel Pöllmann, is reminiscent of an event that took place a very long time ago.
Mr Wesenauer (Hausstatter) knows that between 1700 and 1800 it was customary for the farmers, if they needed Germ, to bring it from Henndorf. On the way, a farmer is reported to have been attacked by wolves and killed.
In Marterl is a picture of St. Anthony. The picture of the Virgin was placed much later.
