Fly-fishing in the Alm and the Laudach

Two bodies of water that couldn't be more different: The Alm captivates with its crystal-clear turquoise-colored water and is home to brown trout as well as powerful rainbows, but also beautiful grayling can be found. This top-class area makes fly-fishing hearts beat faster. Sight-fishermen and friends of the dry fly will find in the lovely Laudach with their golden-yellow brown trout a paradise in which they can pursue their passion for fly fishing undisturbed!

Fishing in the Alm: Our route at the Alm is predestined for fishing with dry flies and a pleasure for every fly fisherman. The river here is 15 to 25 meters wide. The crystal clear water with its turquoise-blue color offers a unique experience of nature. Elongated trickle stretches and deep pools after the weirs are characteristic of this section with an excellent fish population of brown trout, rainbow trout and grayling! The area begins above the Eckhart power plant in Fischböckau and extends 4km downstream to Haresau. Fish stocks: brown trout, rainbow trout and grayling.

Season 1.4. - 30.11. It may only be fished with a fly rod with a dry fly or barbed nymph. Pure flies, flying rods, nymphs or dry flies, steamers in the alpine pastures (max. 3 cm hook length) protective hooks. Fish removal max. 2 trout (RF or BF) between 35 cm and 45 cm. All other fish are to be released carefully.

Fishing in the Laudach: The Laudach presents itself as a small Niederungsbach with different courses and thick bank vegetation. It is a tributary of the Alm, which is ideal for fishing with light equipment. Sight-fishermen and friends of the dry fly will find a paradise in the lovely Laudach with its golden-yellow brown trout! Our section of the Laudach is divided into two areas that can be fished: Laudach I and Laudach II Length approx. 10km, season from April 1st - November 30th

Laudach I: The upper part from Kirchham (Bäckermühlbrücke) to Vorchdorf, part of the route almost like a mountain stream, then trickle stretches, deep pools, impact banks District boundary

Laudach II: Lower part of the Laudach from Vorchdorf, many small weirs, small storage spaces. More like Niederungsbach, higher and wider water flow due to the confluence of the arid Laudach. Main fish: brown trout, rainbow trout, isolated grayling It may only be fished with a fly rod with a dry fly or barbed nymph. Pure flies, flying rods, nymphs or dry flies, steamers in the alpine pastures (max. 3 cm hook length) protective hooks. Fish removal max. 2 pieces of rainbow trout between 35 cm and 45 cm. Brown trout are spared and released gently all year round.
