The Traunsee has excellent thermals and is popular with surfers, sailors and, last but not least, kite surfers. The mouth of the Traun also offers a special feature of this kite spot. Due to the countercurrent of the water in the estuary, you felt 3-4 knots more wind in the kite. In addition, you have brilliant flat water for freestyling in the entire area of the river mouth.
