For the winter sports enthusiast, the valley is ideal for cross-country skiing, for romantic winter walks, as well as for snowshoes with snowboard or snowboard over well prepared natural snow peaks.
  Silent night in Hintersee
In 1816 Joseph Mohr wrote the poem "Silent Night, Holy Night". Even after 200 years, the world-famous Christmas song charms millions of people every year. From 1827 Joseph Mohr lived ten years as a vicar in Hintersee. Today you can visit some of the exhibits in the former living quarters and walk on a part of the hiking trail to the Josef-Mohr Memorial Chapel.
